Botanical Advocacy in South Dakota
One of South Dakota’s largest advocates is the American Kratom Association (AKA). This group keeps an eye on everything from legislation to misleading new stories to personal stories from users. If they feel the need to follow up on anything, such as proposals to a new law or a report that is sorely lacking in details, they find people who can step in.
So far, they’ve had a lot of success in helping people to reconsider their staunch views against kratom. In many cases, they’ve been able to successfully argue for regulation instead of out-and-out restriction. This group supports regulation of kratom in South Dakota and the nation at large. They want all buyers to feel confident in the product they’re taking — regardless of why they need it.
The AKA doesn’t appear to be that active in South Dakota though because, so far, there doesn’t seem to be a need. South Dakota kratom laws are simply not being discussed enough to warrant their efforts. However, it seems likely that if this changes, they will become more involved (and they’ll encourage other people to get involved too).
